Jean Cherchay Jean Trouve Jean a Rete Ator
A Living Story 4-05-2016

My late Sister Sheerley use to say that Haitian proverb.
Jean Cherchay Jean trouve is what most people use in their everyday creole, meaning Jean have search, Jean have found.
But, Jean a Rete Ator is reserve for the initiates. The proverb now is loaded with deep all incompassing meaning with long life implications.  It is a beginning and the end at once, it is a handful situation that will take more than a lifetime to figure out, a life sentence.
Also it is like winning the big jackpot lotto with so many zeros in the number. Bitter Sweet.

Natalia Michelle Cantave my daughter was born last winter. I went to Florida last month to see her for the first time and I took 100's of pictures. I keep 10 with me at all times, But this one have a special meaning to me. It speaks to me personally.  it is the image of survival and conquest. Conquest of my heart.
